IUI is the first line of therapy used for unexplained infertility cases. It is also used for couples affected by mild endometriosis, anovulatory infertility, mild male factor infertility and cervical factor infertility. Patients with tubal blockage or severe tubal damage, ovarian failure (menopause), severe male factor infertility and/or advanced stages of endometriosis should be excluded from the use of this kind of treatment
