Blastocyst Culture
Blastocyst transfers are indicated under certain conditions.
Blastocyst culture
Only 40% of embryos progress from Day 3 to Day 5 to become blastocysts. When employing blastocyst cultures, more embryo genes are activated and a higher implantation rate is obtained; however blastocyst culture is not the treatment of choice in all cases. Blastocyst transfers are successful when they are employed under certain conditions and for certain indications. National and International Fertility Societies, such as the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, offer useful guidelines on the indications for the use of blastocyst culture.
