1986

Pedieos IVF Center was established by Dr Krinos M Trokoudes.

1987

First pregnancy reported in Cyprus following GIFT (Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer) method, performed at Pedieos IVF Center.

1988

First pregnancy reported in Cyprus following ZIFT (Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer) method, performed at Pedieos IVF Center. First pregnancy in Cyprus using donor eggs, performed at Pedieos IVF Center.

1989

A 42 year old lady delivered twins using ZIFT method, performed at Pedieos IVF Center, after 23 years of subfertility. First twin delivery in Cyprus using GIFT and ZIFT methods, performed at Pedieos IVF Center.

1990

The oldest woman to give birth, 50 years of age, gave birth. The IVF procedure was performed under the supervision of Dr Krinos Trokoudes, Director of Pedieos IVF Center.

1991

First triplets delivery in Cyprus after IVF treatment, performed at Pedieos IVF Center.

1992

Pedieos IVF Center was featured in Guinness Book of World Records – The oldest mother to have delivered following an IVF treatment performed under the supervision of Dr Krinos Trokoudes, Director of Pedieos IVF Center. A 57 year old woman gives birth in Cyprus after the embryo transfer performed by Dr Trokoudes. First pregnancy reported in Greece and Cyprus using the SUZI method. Pedieos IVF Center was the first center to report the use of ICSI method in Greece and Cyprus.

1994

First delivery in Cyprus after using the ICSI method for fertilization. The procedure was performed at Pedieos IVF Center.

1995

First triplets to be delivered after fertilization using the ICSI method, was performed at Pedieos IVF Center. Pedieos IVF Center was the first worldwide to have achieved pregnancy using a globozoospermic sperm sample. A case report was published in Human Reproduction (Vol.10, w. 4, pp. 880-882).

2007

Pedieos IVF Center was the first center in Cyprus to report a pregnancy using the Vitrification method.

2008

Pedieos IVF Center was the first center in Cyprus to achieve a pregnancy using vitrified eggs.

2009

Scientific article on vitrification of human embryos titled: “Vitrification of biopsied embryos at cleavage, morula and blastocyst stage” was published in Reproductive Biomedicine Online Journal (Reprod Biomed Online Oct;19(4):526-31).

2011

Scientific article on vitrification of human oocytes titled: “Comparison outcome of fresh and vitrified donor oocytes in an egg-sharing donation program” was published in Fertility and Sterility (Fertility and Sterility May;95(6):1996-2000).

2014

Successful twin delivery using sperm that was cryopreserved for 20 years. Both cryopreservation of sperm and the IVF procedure occurred at Pedieos IVF Center.

2016

Successful single pregnancy and delivery using embryos that were cryopreserved for 10 years. The cryopreservation of embryos, the IVF procedure and the embryo transfer occurred at Pedieos IVF Center.
